Summer Holiday Reading
What a great job! Nearly half of our school completed the summer reading challenge! Everyone who handed their completed entry form received a prize from books to video vouchers, an MP3 player, a hockey stick, a netball and playdoh! Great job ~ lets see if we can get even more entries next year :)
Thanks to the library and all the sponsors for organising everything!

Getting ready for Back to School
Not long now till we are back into learning.
Check out this article from the Herald about how much some schools cost for 'free' education.
A big thanks to all the local businesses that support our school with donations towards our stationery costs and all the great work our families do fundraising to keep our costs low!

End of Term-itis
Hi all - it's that time of year when the pressure is on to get everything done - so please be patient with us all :)
With a couple staff away with illness today it has been a mad rush to try to get everything (especially the newsletter) done.
Hopefully all the information you need to survive the next few days is there.
please note that we will be at the hall practising the play tomorrow and as it is Jane's day off no one will be at school. We will check the answer phone before putting the kids on the bus so be sure to leave a message if you need to.
8 school days to go! Phew!

Pet Day!
What a fantastic day!
Thanks so much to all the team at Home and School who organised such a wonderful day (well done on the weather!) and everyone else who helped out on the day.
It was fantastic to see such wonderful projects and so many fantastic pets. You all made it very hard for the judges.
Well done to Luke and Pippa who won the cups. Well done to Caleb who won the best pea plant prize!
If you have any great pictures from the day please bring/send them in to school so we can make sure every student has a picture for their story writing.

Grandparent's Day
What a great turn out for Grandparents Day! We had family from all over NZ and even some from Sydney! We had a fantastic day with the cricket, volleyball and the great work the children shared with our guests. A fun day topped off with a delicious shared lunch!
Thanks to everyone for coming, and we hope to see you all again soon.

Ski Trip
A HUGE thanks to all the parents who helped us out - and to all those who stayed behind to look after brothers and sisters who weren't on the trip. It was a fantastic sunny day and the kids did fantastic. It was great to see the kids practicing their control in turning, speed and stopping. There were some other kids there who were very dangerous in the way they were screaming down the hill - one even went home with broken wrists as proof!
Click on the picture and it should take you to more pictures from skiing. If you have pictures from the day, we'd love to have a copy to help us with our story writing.
